Les Amis Update!
Bonjour! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I'm missing our French class friends! After speaking to parents at the last class, most people shared that March would be the best time to start the next 6 week session. The dates are not yet decided on, but will get those dates out in the next few weeks. I'm thinking that mid March will be excellent. Also, we will continue to meet on Tuesdays as that day worked out for the majority of participants.
In the meantime, we don't want our kids (or us adult learners!) getting rusty with vocabulary... So, I encourage you (and myself!) to keep the practice going at home.
I came across this helpful link from the Milwaukee French Immersion school with some great resources you can use....
On-line French games by grade level...

French vocab links for children....

Lastly, you may want to continue working on the songs we have been learning at home! Here is a link to our website with parent resources....

Enjoy this break and not traveling out and about in the cold!
Hope to see you all in March, and more details to come with start date, topics, and other specifics!
God bless,
Marianne

Winter Session Important Updates!
Winter Session is starting on Tuesday and meeting for a total of 6 classes! This session there are lots of great learning activities planned for you to be aware of.....
1. Throughout the 6 week session, we will be learning Silent Night in French (the first verse). Handouts will be provided in class.
2. There are several winter theme and Christmas themed activities planned, and vocabulary!
.3. We will also be focusing on the alphabet and counting 1 -20! (Especially that tricky 11 -20!)
4. Prize Basket Update!!! Blandine let me know that she was VERY impressed with the kids sharing French songs on the last week of class! She said that a variety of songs were song by the children. Now this term, the prize basket is going to get a little harder. Kids can only pick from the prize basket on Week 5 and Week 6 to ensure ample time to practice and get the songs down very well. Also, they can only draw from the prize bin if they can repeat Silent Night or the entire ABCs. I will have handouts for kids to take home to practice! :) (If your child has been practicing really hard on a different song, let me know and we can make an exception) :)
5. The last week of class we will all come together for a little Christmas French fun!
I'm a little behind on the website right now, but hopefully will have it all caught up by Week 2 and will email those updates soon.
God bless!

RSVP
Fun Fact!
Ever wondered what RSVP stands for? I wondered the very same thought last weekend and did a little google search. If you don't already know, it is a french phrase! Here is what it means...
It is derived from the French phrase Répondez s'il vous plaît, literally "Reply if you please" or "Please reply".
