I
am pleased to introduce you to your new French teacher! She would like to be called by her first
name, Blandine. Here is a brief Q&A so you can get to know her a
little. And, she looks forward to meeting you and your children soon!
Welcome
to Wisconsin Blandine! We are very thankful to Madame Qerimi for
referring you to us. I know you moved to West Bend from France 1 year
ago, could you tell us a little about where you are from, your family, and what
brought you to Wisconsin?
Thank you for welcoming me! I'm married
with Johann, a French man. Together, we have 2 boys who are 4 and 6 years old.
Their names are Abel and Léopold. Before moving, we lived in a small town,
close from Nantes. Nantes is a beautiful historic city situated next to the
Ocean Atlantique. We moved in May 2014, because my husband got a new job in
West Bend. It was a real adventure for our family because neither me nor my
kids knew how to speak English.
What
types of experiences have you had working with children in the past?
When I worked in France, I was a specialist of
education and environment. So my job was to go to different schools to show the
children the importance of taking care of our planet.
And recently, I helped my children to learn English!
What
are some things you like to do for fun?
I’m a
musician, so I love to play piano and diatonic accordion, a typical French
instrument! I also love to spend time with my family, especially in the parks.
What
do you miss most about France?
What I miss
the most is my relatives…. And the French cheese with a baguette.
What
do you like best about Wisconsin?
I really
like how the people are friendly and welcoming. I have never felt like a
foreign person in Wisconsin.
Do
you have any advice about teaching our young children French?
